TEACHING VACANCIES

Introduction

St. Mary’s School is a school of the Archdiocese of Nairobi that offers combined Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary School. It caters for learners ranging from three to eighteen years. The school runs varied curricula which include -the Competency Based Education (CBE), Cambridge Primary Curriculum (CAIE), Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), General Certificate of Secondary Education-(IGCSE) and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The Primary and Secondary Sections have boys only while the Kindergarten and IBDP are co-educational.

We are looking for the following teachers in:

JUNIOR SCHOOL TEACHER

1. Mathematics / Kiswahili / Music (Cambridge Primary Year 1 to Year 6).

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor of Education degree (B.Ed)/Diploma of Education with a bias in the above subjects.
• Proficiency in Music (Shall be an added advantage).
• Proven experience in teaching Primary School for at least 3 years.
• Must be registered with TSC.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Other accreditation with regard to the teaching subjects and/or other related activities will be a plus
• Experience in teaching the Cambridge (IGCSE) curriculum will be an added advantage.

2. Kindergarten Teacher

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Diploma in ECDE/ Montessori System.
• Proven experience in teaching Kindergarten for at least 3 years.
• Must be registered with TSC.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in teaching the Cambridge Early Years Curriculum will be an added advantage.

 SENIOR SCHOOL TEACHER

1. Physics / Chemistry

 Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) with a bias in the above subjects.
• Proven experience in teaching Secondary School for at least 3 years.
• Must be registered with TSC.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Other accreditation with regard to the teaching subjects and/or other related activities will be a plus.
• Training in CBE will be an added advantage.
• Experience in teaching aviation will be a definate advantage.

      2. Psychology/Counsellor

 Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).
• Bachelor of Arts Science degree in Psychology and Counselling with a Post Graduate Diploma in Education is also admissible.
• Certification as a guidance and counsellor from relevant professional body is required.
• Proven experience in counselling for at least 3 years.
• Must be registered with TSC.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Other accreditation with regard to the teaching subjects will be a plus.
• Experience in teaching the IGCSE/IB curriculum will be an added advantage.
